• Use only reagents of VIROTECH Diagnostics.
• Bring up reagents to room temperature prior to starting the test run
• The cut-off controls are lot specific
• All required test function controls must appear (serum control band and corresponding conjugate control band). Otherwise the test run is invalid and must be repeated
• Store developed strips in dark, as the bands fade in the course of time

The AIX1000 is the first ever fully automated Rapid Plasma Reagin (RPR) Syphilis testing solution. It runs qualitative (screen) or quantitative (titer) RPR Syphilis tests. It allows automatic reading, interpretation and archival of results using probe-mounted camera and integrated pattern recognition software.

The term “reagin” means that this test does not look for antibodies against the actual bacteria, but rather for antibodies against substances released by cells when they are damaged by Treponema pallidum. RPR test is one of the nonspecific tests commonly used to screen the population for syphilis. The RPR test measures IgM and IgG antibodies to lipoidal material released from damaged host cells.
