Disease: Respiratory infections by Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)

Symptoms: URI - Upper respiratory tract infections - Rhinitis, Sinusitis, Pharyngitis, Tonsillitis and Laryngitis; bronchiolitis, pneumonia, krupp. Complications: intercostal muscle retractions, cyanosis und bacterial superinfection in children.

Mechanism of Infection: Infections are spread via: droplets, aerosols (upon contact); fomites (indirect contact transmission)
