Disease: Trichinosis
Symptoms: Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, fever and abdominal discomfort. Larval migration into muscle tissue can cause edema, conjunctivitis, myalgias, splinter hemorrhages, rashes, blood eosinophilia.
Mechanism of Infection: Infection can occur by eating raw or undercooked pork and wild game products infected with the larvae of Trichinella worms
